Hair journey continued! There is a great debate about hair products out there… one being that the ph. of soap-based shampoo is too high and possibly damaging. My mom colors her hair and I wanted to make something a little more color friendly. I also have greys coming in. We shall see if I plan to color my hair in the near future. My goal as always is to find mild and naturally derived ingredients. Thus Shampoo #4, #5, #6 and #7 were born! These are made with very mellow naturally derived ingredients that will rinse well. I will tell you I still use soap-based shampoos and occasionally use these new ones. Not only to test them out but to help with soap build up. Soon I will get a nice removable shower head that will also help rinse all this thick hair. These are naturally “derived” ingredients. Not found in nature as they are human made from plants and if you are like me you are going to want to question anything that is not easily pronounced. Here is a breakdown of the ingredients below found in my shampoo bar 4-7 if you have any questions please let me know! Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate- is ECOcert, gentle on sensitive skin, 100% natural surfactant and sulfate free, derived from coconut and palm oil. *this is the only item derived from palm you will find on my site. I do not agree with using palm in large quantities with all the controversy over the deforestation harvests. Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate - Sulfate free, 100% natural origin, green and biodegradable. Derived from coconut oil. Cocamidopropyl Betaine- Derived from coconut, sulfate free and gentle. Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Butylene Glycol and Cetyl Alcohol - Yes that did say "Sulfate" but it's nothing like you see in most products this is an "quaternary ammonium salt derived from the natural plant oil colza" (canola/ rapeseed), conditioning, great for detangling, smooth feel, fatty alcohol, glycol solvent and environmentally friendly." Panthenol- is provitamin B5, not derived from animals, no animal byproducts and is cruelty free. Glyceryl Monocaprylate and glyceryl monoundecylenate- EcoCert natural preservative, made from coconut oil, and paraben free. If you do color your hair, I would recommend Shampoo #4- #7. Although some can still use soap-based shampoo on colored hair. Haircare is a journey and each their own.
I would love to hear about your experiences please comment below.
