Have you seen lava essential oil diffuser jewelry, but have yet to try it?
I want to tell you how excited I was when I realized you can scent your jewelry! Your love of essential oils and gemstones can unite? Yes, they sure can!
Aromatherapy jewelry combines simplicity and quality in a way that will keep you coming back.
Q. How do I use the diffuser jewelry?
A. Lava stones are wonderful little natural diffuser for on the go! The lava rocks are naturally porous and absorb your essential oils.
Add 1 drops of essential oil to a lava stone. Allow the stone to dry/absorb a moment. If you like you can evenly distribute with a cotton swab. When the scent fades, reapply.
You are going to want to put your oil on the side of the beads that will not directly be exposed to your skin. The little 2ml bottles don’t let a lot of essential oil come out at once. You can apply a small amount to just one bead.
Q. How long will the scents last?
A. This will depend on how fast they evaporate.
Citrus will evaporate within a few hours. Frankincense will last several days.
You can keep your jewelry in a glass jar or plastic container when you are not wearing your jewelry. If you prevent the oils from evaporating when not in use, the essential oil scent will stay on your stones for a few days.
A little caution and research is sensible when using your essential oils. Essential oils are derived from medicinal plants, florals and are highly concentrated materials. Various plants are endangered. Some essential oils require pounds of plant substance just to produce a few drops. I always advice to use your essential oils with respect, honor and pleasure. 😊 Aromatherapy jewelry always allows me to bring the relaxing and soothing scents wherever I go.
Do you find your silver designs are not a shinny as they once were? This isn't too uncommon many factors can contribute to tarnishing your sterling silver.
I once made a DIY beautiful display of my jewelry right in my restroom near the sink. It was wonderful for getting ready in the morning and I could see all my favorites right there! After months of this I soon began to see the how my silver was turning from bright, to dull and then just nasty. The moisture in the restroom had tarnished all my sterling silver jewelry. Cleaning my silver pieces was a must!
How do I care for my sterling silver?
Keep your sterling silver away from moisture, don't swim with your jewelry. Sterling silver can tarnish easily if it is not rhodium plated. I recommend keeping products in closed container between uses. The ‘silica do not eat packs’ can help keep moisture at bay in your jewelry box.
Sterling designs should be cleaned on a regular basis to prevent tarnishing. Cleaning and polishing your sterling jewelry can be tricky. Please be aware that some gemstones such as turquoise and opals are very delicate you don’t want to use anything harsh on them. To clean your jewelry, soak the pieces in a mild soap and warm water. Take a soft brush, like a toothbrush, brush clean and thoroughly dry with a soft cloth.
You can always send in your jewelry in for cleaning, ask about pricing.
I used a product that was too harsh on this pair of earrings now the pearls are damaged. Pieces containing pearls require special care. I recommend that hand creams, hair sprays, and perfumes do not come in contact with your pearls.
This kit online is quite delicate and effective
If the answer is yes...I would be happy to help! As a former employee of Laura Gibson Designs I just maybe able to help you with your repair or lost item.
You can contact below or send an email.
I worked at Laura Gibson Designs from 2004-2016. Laura was very inspiring and introduced me to the wonderful world of gemstones. Laura was an amazing mentor. I learned so much from her and the staff too. I started off in production and soon moved thru the company to everything from production assistant, inventory, design manager, sales and operations manager. We then closed shop in 2016. It was a wonderful experience and my first real job in a field I absolutely loved! I do miss Laura and I am still reminded of her often.
Repairing these items brings back memories from when they were first designed! What better way to keep someone’s memory alive then to wear her pieces again and share their vision long after they have passed.
Have you ever received a new essential oil and were super excited about it? Then once you get it open and take a whiff and whoa! Not sure if you like it? I recently received a new oregano essential oil. Nothing wrong with it :) just new to me. I was super excited about my oregano oil, I generously applied to my bracelets. This was a bad idea! I had a headache within minutes as the scent was too strong!
In all reality all you need is a drop. Dilution is key with some essential oils even with diffusing. Essential oils are very potent and must be investigated before you go wild! Handle essential oils with care. These are highly concentrated plant substances and have naturally occurring chemicals that can be dangerous. Some oils are not safe for your pets, children and individuals with medical issues.
If you ever use too much essential oil on your bracelet, leave it out in a well-ventilated area. Maybe outside or in the garage out of smelling range. I personally stuffed these bracelets in the cup holder of my car, put a bunch of tissues over them and left them there for a few days! Haha, in any case let the essential oils evaporate out of site and scent .
If you can’t wait that long, you can wash your bracelet too. Use a mild soap and warm water, dry with a towel and air dry.
Normally, I don’t go crazy with essential oils. I would rather have the scent last several days. Your top note essential oils such as orange, lemon and lime will evaporate quickly possibly within an hour or a few hours. Base notes such as cedar wood and frankincense will last several days. If you would like to prevent the essential oils on your lava jewelry from evaporating, you can use a glass jar, plastic bag or plastic container to store your diffuser jewelry when you're not wearing them. The plastic container is great for on the go. I throw it in my purse and put my jewelry on once I arrive. I also have a few pairs of earrings and small bottles of essential oils in there too.
This one is great for when your on the move! Just throw it in your purse and get ready on the way.
Let's talk about broken beaded jewelry. Jewelry by virtue of being beaded, is delicate and should be handled with the same care that you would give any fine jewelry. Jewelry is bound to break when you catch it on a cabinet, it gets stretched out, you drop it, over time the wire wears out, the possibilities are endless!
Gemstones are normally hand cut and some have sharp edges this too can bring wear and tear to your handmade jewelry.
If your beaded jewelry happens to break, please collect as much of it as you can. You can use tape to prevent the remaining beads from falling off the wire. Place your beads and your broken jewelry in a sealed bag.
I recommend that beaded jewelry be restrung and inspected every 1-2 years.
Craftsmanship for Wisdom Body and Soul is guaranteed for necklaces, bracelets and earrings for 12 months from purchase.
I do other repairs on beaded and wire wrapped jewelry too. I charge reasonable fees for restring items and replace any lost supplies if available. I can also modify your piece for a better fit or for an exciting redesign. Just send me an email and we can see what we can do!
